Is it One of Those Days?
Are you having one of those days where everything is a rush and whenever you finish one task — two more appear? We all have those days and usually sitting down to a nice healthy meal seems like the last thing you have time to do.
These are the times where even the most committed among us want to throw up their hands and say, "One day of not caring about my diet isn’t going to matter." But this is a dangerous thought because consistency is a key factor in losing weight so when we lose a day to stress, we lose our consistency.
The next time you have "one of those days", don’t let your emotions make your eating decisions for you, instead, look at the situation differently. If you are too busy to sit down to a nice healthy lunch, then have a healthy lunch on the run.
Instead of "one day doesn’t matter" – adopt the thought, "My body needs the best fuel I can give it to get through this day"
Planning ahead will be a help. Grab a baggy and fill it with nuts, raw vegetables, or a whole grain cereal or pack some protein like lunch meat and cheese or yogurt. These things are quick, easy and portable. If you didn’t plan ahead and you are hungry you can usually find a healthy alternative in convenient areas — even Starbucks sells bags of mixed nuts.
Life will not slow down so you can reach your goal so I encourage you to adopt a beneficial attitude toward eating and do a bit of planning — this is one of the important steps you can take toward your goal.
