Top 3 Best (and Worst) Attitudes on Biggest Loser

When it comes to winning at weight loss attitude is everything.  Here is my assessment of the good, bad and ugly of the contestant’s comments from last nights Biggest Loser show.

     Best

  • David, on the red team, has my vote for best attitude for success out of all the contestants.  After the Junk Food Temptation he commented, "it wasn’t worth it to me" and as he walked up to the scale his attitude was, even though I haven’t seen changes in the mirror, I know the effort level has been there.  When he found out that he had lost 6 pounds he was proud of his accomplishment and acknowledged that "in the real world it takes people a long time to lose 6 pounds."  David gets the Gold for attitude.
  • Julie, black team, had a great reaction to her 3 pound weight loss – "slow and steady wins the race, I might be the last little turtle across the line but I’m going to look good in my shell."
  • Bill, one of the twins from the black team, took a quote from his brother which was, "the next pound is the most important" – I love that attitude!

     Worst

The Blue Team took a clean sweep for the top three worst attitudes with these comments

  • Jerry was "shocked" that he only lost 2 pounds and added, "maybe this 62 year old body said, hold on maybe I want to stay here for a while."  Are you kidding me!  The guy had lost 41 pounds in the previous 2 weeks, 2 more pounds this week is incredible.  This is what I mean about losing weight in Fantasy Land.
  • Nicole simply said, "it’s better than nothing" in response to her 3 pound weight loss but her worst attitude award is attributed to the forlorn way it came out of her mouth.
  • Neil, he just needs to lighten up a bit in general.  Think less stress Neil.

I want to mention one Bonus Uh-Oh Thought that came from Julie during the food temptation challenge, she referred to pizza as "a long lost friend".  I would say she needs to reexamine her relationship with food.

Thoughts are important when you are working toward a goal.  You can choose thoughts that keep you going and pull you toward your goal or you can choose thoughts that grind your progress to a screeching halt, let’s hope all the contestants stay positive.

I will update the Best and Worst list next week.  I welcome your comments!  Let me know your votes for best and worst attitudes and how you think it will affect the outcome of the show.

One last comment – A big thumbs down to the Blue team for kicking off Jerry – Boo!
