The Best and Worst Attitudes on Biggest Loser-Part II

A good attitude leads to success, a bad one leads to defeat.

Here is some evidence from last night’s Biggest Loser show that proves this point.

Best Attitude Awards

Confidence & Belief Award — goes to the Red Team for their attitude during the bidding war for the flag challenge, their attitude?  "We want to do it" — They went on to win the challenge.

Self-Worth Award — goes to Patty with a special mention to Bob for their time at 24 Hour Fitness when Bob made Patty say, "I am worth it" which she said with a belief I don’t think she knew she had inside.  Patty went on to lose 5 pounds this week and though she was kicked off continued her weight loss for a total of 61 pounds.

Progress is Never a Bad Thing Award — goes to Bryan from the Red team who hoped for a double digit weight loss but lost 2 pounds.  His reaction?  He applauded himself.

Believe without Doubt Award — goes to Isabeau who said that all week she had it in her head that she would lose 8 pounds.  How much did she lose?  Exactly 8 pounds.  Your thoughts influence your actions!

Find a Higher Purpose Award — goes to Kae from the Blue Team who said after losing 6 pounds, "I just hope that is enough to help my team."  You increase your chance of success when you find a purpose bigger than yourself to succeed.

Worst Attitude Awards

Defeat Award – goes to Hollie who cried after finding that she had lost "only" 3 pounds.  Her verbal reaction, "I’m pissed!" I have to wonder if she would stick with her diet if she were in the real world with that attitude.

Fear Award — goes to The Blue Team after Patty admitted that the team didn’t run the flag challenge because, "we used fear as a crutch".  The blue team went to the elimination table at the end of the show.

Lack of Mental Readiness Award — goes to the black team who ran the flag challenge but, as Jez stated, "our mental preparation just wasn’t there."  You must believe you can win in order to win.  The Black team did not finish in the allotted time.

Attitude is everything.  As you are working to improve your body do not let doubt enter your mind, instead focus on your goal and that vision of success and keep moving forward.

Please share your comments about last nights attitudes.

  • what a wonderfully written post!!! I too was moved by Bob’s encouragement to Patty—she is worth it. We are all worth it. It really hit home, especially being a busy mom myself.

I was disappointed that the blue team gave up on the challenge. Even though the black team did not win–at least they tried.

That’s all we can do sometimes is try. If we don’t succeed, we just get up and try again!

    Isn’t this a great show?!
