Are there only 2 Types of Food

There is a man who calls himself the American Monk, his goal is to raise the consciousness of 1 million people over the next year.  Well, okay… I was intrigued enough to listen to a few of the videos he had on YouTube, if you are intrigued by him you can watch him by clicking here, but this is not the point of my post, when I was listening to him he had a very interesting way of looking at weight loss.

Basically, he says there are only two types of food: mouth foods and stomach foods.  Mouth foods are things that taste good in your mouth such as sweets, fatty foods, etc.  Stomach foods are foods our body wants, foods that might not have a big taste explosion but allow our body to function well.  Therefore, if we focus more on stomach foods we should be able to control our eating and our weight better (I am paraphrasing extensively to see his comments listen to the last 3 minutes of the video on this page called instant hypnosis by Burt Goldman) .  I think it is a good example of how we can reframe eating and the foods we choose to eat.  I imagine you could take this theory to the next level and find foods that are a combination of mouth foods and stomach foods, things that taste good and are good for you, and try to focus on eating more of those.

If you want to cure yourself of eating addiction, or break the cycle of yo-yo dieting, you must be open to looking at things differently and doing things differently.  This is one example of how to do just that.  Let me know what you think.
