Mooooo - Good and Good for You

Not too long ago the USDA increased the daily recommendation for dairy products (in the low-fat or non-fat variety) from two servings per day to three.  A serving is…

  • 8 ounces of milk or yogurt
  • 1 and 1/2 ounces of cheese

Why the increase?  Because dairy foods have a lot of benefits.

  • a good source of calcium
  • provide potassium, phosphorus, and vitamin D
  • help reduce the risk of osteoporosis
  • help control blood pressure
  • keep you bones strong

I start almost every day with a bowl of Bran Buds with yogurt.  Yum.
