Advice From a Couple of Losers
Kae Whang and Bryan “B” Washington, both contestants on The Biggest Loser Season 4 where recently interviewed by Bill Breslin of the Houston Chronicle. I thought they made a lot of interesting comments that might help you on your weight loss journey. I have summarized the points below but you can read the whole article by clicking here.
Kae, 28, dropped 97 pounds. She started at 225 and ended at 128.
“B”, 30, lost 122 pounds going from 346 to 224.
Kae’s biggest piece of advice is to “keep (weight loss) simple because it can be overwhelming. Ask yourself simple questions like ‘am I going to work out today — yes or no.’ “ She feels that when diet and exercise get too complicated you spend too much time making decisions and too little time taking action.
“B” also advises asking yourself questions, to him it was important to ask “What caused the weight gain in the first place?” For him, some answers were found in his challenging childhood.
Both contestants still remain active, “B” enjoys boxing and Kae jogs regularly.
My favorite quotes from the article:
Kae: “If you can succeed at (dieting), you can succeed at anything. It brings you closer to your family and makes life more fulfilling.”
“B”: “The race doesn’t always go to the swift, but to those who endure.”
