I AM EATING RIGHT BUT NOT LOSING. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
There are two things to consider when you feel like you are eating right yet your weight is not dropping. First you want to be sure you are accurate in your food intake estimation and second you want to be sure your metabolism is strong.
Start by recording your food and calorie intake if you are not already doing so. Simply start writing down what you eat and drink and the number of calories in those items on a notepad. This will give you a more accurate measure of your calories intake and help you create your weight loss plan.
Research has shown that simply keeping a food journal helps people lose weight even if they do not consciously change any other aspect of their eating.
Next I would look at ways to boost your metabolism.
If after recording your calorie intake/food intake for a couple of weeks you find that your calories are “low enough” and “should” be causing your weight to drop, then your metabolism might need to increase.
You can rule out hypothyroidism with your medical doctor if that is a concern (the thyroid is related to your metabolism rate). If all is okay there you can boost your metabolism with strength training which means exercise against resistance. The resistance can come from body weight (push-ups, squats, etc.) or by using bands or free weights.
In a case where my main goal was to boost my fat-burning metabolism I would use strength training over aerobic exercise like walking or riding bike but both would be great. The reason is because strength training will increase muscle and more muscle equals a higher metabolic rate.
The other thing you will want to consider doing is varying your calorie intake during the week. This can be very helpful for people who tend to get a consistent number of calories every day (ie. you always eat the same). Shifting your calories from lower for a few days then higher for a day will help stimulate your body to change.
In my report, Lose 10 Pounds This Month (you can read about it here www.lose10poundsthismonth.com) I explain how to use a high calorie day during the course of your diet to boost your metabolism which in turn boost your weight loss. I also share how to strength train even if you don’t own free weights or belong to a gym.
So to summarize, I suggest you record your food intake for as long as it takes to shift into weight loss and also consider starting a strength training exercise program and also consider varying your calorie intake by adding a high calorie day followed by lower calorie days.
These changes will start shifting you into weight loss; the change might be slow at first so stay consistent, give your body sufficient time to change and you will get there.

Thanks, I was always very good about tracking what I eat and have always exercised but never seemed to get the weight loss I wanted. I did recently start taking a day to add more carbs into my week and generally feel better, hoping to see the results on the scale!
