FASTER WEIGHT LOSS IS EASIER THAN SLOW…SERIOUSLY
Why Losing Weight Fast is Actually Easier Than Slow Weight Loss
It might sound silly to think that losing weight fast is easier then taking it off slowly but this fact is supported by research.
Dr. Dean Ornish conducted research on what motivates people to change and what he found was that rapid improvement can be a powerful motivator. As he puts it, “radical, sweeping, comprehensive changes are often easier for people than small, incremental ones.”
Let’s consider dieting for instance, people who set out to lose slowly by making moderate changes in their eating are often likely to feel deprived and hungry because they are not allowing themselves to eat the foods they want to eat, yet at the same time they are not seeing the improvements on the scale or positive changes in their health such as a lower blood pressure or cholesterol reading. In a sense they are getting the worst of both worlds by cutting back and not seeing results.
On the other side of the spectrum, the person who really makes drastic changes to their eating will still have to deal with the consequences that come with changing their habits yet they will quickly see results and these dieting choices then become “choices worth making”.
Now some people are concerned that losing weight fast is unhealthy, but this is not true unless you are doing unhealthy things to drop the weight, for instance, starving yourself, purging or overly excessive exercising can be harmful to your health but if you are dropping weight quickly by eating smaller portions, focusing on lower calorie foods such as vegetables and lean proteins, and boosting your exercise then you can lose fast in a healthy way.

Wow! Thank you so much, this makes so much sense to me. I always start off on a diet and do ok but then I have one bad weekend and feel like I just reversed everything that I had done and quit. I see why this didn’t help me!!!
